About Addy van den Krommenacker
Addy van den Krommenacker (b. 1950) lives fashion. From an early age he drew princesses in sumptuous ball gowns, not knowing that he would grow into one of Holland’s most celebrated couturiers. His career began in the Verwersstraat in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, where he took his first steps in the world of fashion.
From styling to haute couture
What began with a love of styling grew into a successful boutique and a vibrant career as a designer. Addy’s talent did not go unnoticed: soon Dutch celebrities such as Willeke Alberti and Sandra Reemer found their way to his creations. In 2001, he presented his first couture dresses, which immediately made an impression. Just two years later he launched his first full haute couture collection, and in 2007 he made his international debut at the Alta Roma Fashion Week in Rome, where he received the prestigious Look of the Year Award for best foreign designer.

International allure
Addy’s work reaches far beyond borders. With studios in both the Netherlands and Milan and shows from Cannes to Kuala Lumpur, his couture radiates worldwide. His designs graced the red carpet of the Oscars, among others, and were worn by international stars such as Tyra Banks. During the finale of America’s Next Top Model, broadcast in more than 130 countries, Addy’s collection was in the spotlight – an exceptional achievement for a Dutch designer.
Favorite of brides, royals and stars
Addy’s designs are the epitome of feminine elegance, and beloved by many prominent figures. From the enchanting wedding dresses for Chantal Janzen, Leontien van Nistelrooij and Bettina Bakkum-Holwerda to designing the wedding dress for Princess Carolina de Bourbon de Parme, for which historical lace from the royal family was used. His creations also shone at royal events such as the inauguration of King Willem-Alexander. Addy’s style flawlessly manages to unite grandeur and personality.

Art and inspiration
Always innovative, Addy draws his inspiration from art, culture and travel. His Bosch by Addy collection, inspired by The Garden of Delights by Hieronymus Bosch, was acclaimed worldwide. Collections such as Out of Africa and Amazon by Addy also demonstrate his inexhaustible creativity and international allure.
Resilience and vision
After closing his brick-and-mortar stores in 2020, Addy made an impressive relaunch with the opening of his Addy Experience at Villa Maasdonk. His dedication and perseverance were rewarded with the Entrepreneur Award for best restart, presented by Maxime Verhagen. Today, he remains true to his vision: to create timeless beauty in which every woman feels magical.
