There are so many amazing wedding dresses and designs out there that while looking for inspiration at home, some brides get a little lost in the selection – and end up not knowing exactly what they actually want. I understand that very well. Therefore my tip: if you no longer know what you do want, turn it around and collect what you definitely do not want. You will see that you can eliminate a lot by doing so. That clarity will bring you closer to your dream dress.
Every bride is different – and sometimes it’s not very easy to listen to your own feelings. From my experience as a bridal stylist, more entourage is not necessarily better: more people often means more opinions, and that actually makes it harder for brides to hear their own voices. That’s why I always advise my brides to think carefully about who you bring – choose people who really support you. It’s not about pleasing others. It’s your moment, your feelings and your dress.
On your wedding day itself, it’s best to start off strapless: no socks, no bra straps, avoid anything that can leave prints on your skin. This will ensure that you shine flawlessly in your wedding dress and that no distracting prints will show up on your skin in the photos. So during the “getting ready” moment, preferably wear a loose T-shirt or – even better – a spacious bathrobe. This will also ensure that your bridal makeup and hairstyle stay put when you get dressed.
