Meet “Say Yes to the Dress” stylist Meike
Meike is making her debut this season as a stylist on *Say Yes to the Dress*. This young, energetic woman has been working at Koonings as a stylist and receptionist for two years now. You might also recognize her as one of our models. We regularly dress her up in a gown for photo shoots, so Meike knows better than anyone what it feels like to wear a gown. We’d love to introduce her to you!
What’s the biggest mistake you’ve ever made at work?
“I once accidentally left out a zero when selling a dress. The dress ended up costing €14,000 instead of the €1,400 I thought it would cost. Of course, I had to explain that to the bride afterward. At a moment like that, you really feel like you’ve made a huge blunder, haha!”
Which famous person would you still like to dress?
“That’s a really good question, and I have a very simple answer: Beyoncé!”

Has there ever been a moment with a bride that will always stay with you?
“Yes, absolutely. It’s not about one specific bride. We regularly have brides come in who have a certain dress silhouette in mind because they want to ‘hide’ certain parts of their body. For example, they might be beautifully curvy but don’t want to show that off in a form-fitting dress. I sometimes ask if they’d mind if I helped them try on just one form-fitting dress, promising that they don’t have to show it to their friends and family if they don’t want to. If they then walk out the door feeling completely confident in a form-fitting dress, I’ve achieved my goal. Not because they ended up choosing that form-fitting dress—it could just as easily be the A-line dress they were looking for in the first place. But the fact that I was able to contribute to that feeling of confidence—that makes me very happy!”
What do you dream about?
“I’d love to start my own clothing line specifically for tall women.”
What makes you the happiest?
“I’m happiest when I spend time with my family and friends.”
What did you want to be when you grew up?
“I used to want to be so many things, haha! I actually always wanted to do something with animals. I used to want a farm, and now I’m a stylist at a bridal shop. It’s totally different, haha! But now I have to say that I wouldn’t want that farm anymore either.”
