The time has come: Season 9 of *Say Yes to the Dress Benelux*<\/em> has begun! This season, we\u2019re once again following brides as they search for the wedding dress that has it all at Koonings. Together with Fred van Leer, bridal fashion queen Ramona Koonings, and our styling team, they\u2019ll experience special, emotional, and sometimes surprising moments during their search for *the* dress. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some loves never completely fade away. Durkje (44) and Thomas were only 16 when they became each other\u2019s summer flings. They lost touch, went their separate ways, married other people, had children, and got divorced. Until Facebook brought them back together years later. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And apparently, that initial spark had never completely faded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s already been ten years since Thomas got down on one knee. In July 2027, it\u2019s finally going to happen. And after waiting so long, Durkje has only one goal for her wedding dress: she wants Thomas to think, \u201cSo this is what I\u2019ve been waiting for all this time.\u201d<\/strong> <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    Say Yes to the Dress: Spanish Roots, Sky-High Standards<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Mercedes (32) knows what she wants. Stylish, timeless, elegant\u2014and above all, no fuss. And with a multi-day wedding in Spain on the horizon, her dress can definitely be a little \u201cwow<\/em>.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Next September, she\u2019ll marry Flores in the Spanish valley where she grew up. Mercedes lived in Spain until she was 18, and her parents still live there. She has since built a life for herself in the Netherlands, where she also met Flores. They hit it off right away, and later, in front of her family, he proposed to her. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Now all that’s left is to find a dress that meets Mercedes’ wish list. And believe us: it’s pretty specific. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    It might be a little less minimalist than Mercedes had originally envisioned, but as soon as she sees herself in it, the critical bride is won over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Say Yes to the Dress: From Church Choir to “I Do”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    From making music together in church to standing together at the altar. Sue-Emmy (28) met her fianc\u00e9, Bashiru, when she was the choir director and he was in charge of sound at the church they both attended. Now they\u2019re ready for their next chapter: they\u2019re getting married in October. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    For Sue-Emmy and Bashiru, marriage has a special meaning in their faith. After they say “I do,” they’ll move in together for the first time, and a new chapter as a family will truly begin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    But first things first: the wedding dress.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
